Over the past few decades in shopping is more and more one of the main leisure activities of people in all over the world, gradually replacing standard features as reading, gardening and outdoor sports. There are a number of good reasons for this, and I see it as largely bad.

There are two main reasons why people love shopping as their hobby. In fact, more than anything else, the advent of e-commerce sites like Amazon and Flipkart have made shopping an easy and convenient process. Celeka you invcan scrolling your products from home anytime of the day and find diections to thousands of products on sale. Second, an influx of grueling advertising and a newfound importance placed on social media has ushered in an era of many admiring the feeling that comes with acquiring new possessions. Most people today after buying something, do not purchase it because they need or require but for the sake of temporary satisfaction and excitement brought by obtaining a new item.

I think that trend is predominantly negative for a number of significant reasons. Hobbies based on shopping foster an unhealthy consumer culture that brings about debt and bankruptcy as well as the crises of over-consumption and waste. Additionally, it displaces many more purposeful and fulfilling activities like exercise, being with friends or working on an artistic skill that adds positively to personal development and mental health.

But you can say shopping boosts the economy and helps local business a smidge, if any.

To sum it up, shopping as a hobby might be attractive in today consumer society full of big brands, but its downside for your wallet, mental health and environment far outweighs any benefits.
